Printing Guide

🔥 Our Core Printing Methods

At Sk8Soul®, customization isn’t a gimmick — it’s the core. But not all printing methods are the same. Some are better for cotton, some for polyester, some for big all-over designs. This guide breaks it down in plain language so you know exactly which print fits your vibe.

1. DTF (Direct-to-Film)

How it works: Your design is first printed on a special film. Then, heat + pressure fuses it directly into the fabric.

Why it’s awesome:

  • Works on almost any fabric (cotton, polyester, blends)
  • Colors look bold and vibrant—even on dark clothes
  • Very durable; doesn’t peel or crack easily

What it feels like: Slightly raised on top of the fabric, but still flexible and comfy.

Wash Life: Holds strong for 40–50 washes. With proper care, it can last 2–3x longer (yes, people have rocked DTF prints for years).

Best choice if you want: Maximum durability + versatility.

2. DTG (Direct-to-Garment)

How it works: Imagine a giant inkjet printer, but instead of paper, it prints directly on your shirt.

Why it’s awesome:

  • Ink blends into fabric = super soft feel (almost feels like the design isn’t there)
  • Perfect for detailed designs—shading, gradients, or photo-quality prints
  • Best on 100% cotton fabrics

What it feels like: Smooth, lightweight, breathable—like part of the shirt itself.

Wash Life: Lasts 25–35 washes before it starts to fade slightly. With care, it also stretches to 2–3x longer.

Best choice if you want: Soft, natural-feel prints on cotton.

🌈 All-Over Print (AOP) – Sublimation

How it works: Instead of sitting on top, your design is dyed into the fibers of the fabric. Think of it as a tattoo for clothes.

Why it’s awesome:

  • Full-body coverage—every inch of fabric can be printed
  • Colors never crack or peel
  • Lightweight and breathable

What it feels like: Just the fabric—no raised ink, no stiffness.

Best for: AOP tees, shorts, tote bags, and co-ord sets. Works best on light polyester fabrics.

✨ Specialty Printing

  • Embroidery: Our go-to for embroidered patches. Adds a tactile, high-quality feel to your design that stands out and lasts forever.
  • Digital Printing: Used for stickers, posters, and tattoos. Crisp details and smooth gradients.
  • UV Printing: For hard items like keychains and fridge magnets. Vibrant, scratch-resistant, long-lasting.

🧼 How to Care for Your Prints (Make Them Last 2–3x Longer)

  • Wash inside-out
  • Use cold or mild water
  • Don’t bleach, don’t iron directly on print
  • Air dry > machine dry

Take care, and your prints will outlive the wash count—guaranteed.
